PROPOSED ITINERARY DAY ONE

8:00am depart Direct pick up from your accommodation in Paris
Taittinger Champagne Visit and tasting at the famous house Taittinger. Learn about Champagne making and Walk the oldest cellars in the region that saved lives of many during WW1
G.H. Martell Tasting at a mid size family producer
Lunch at La Crayere Brasserie in a chateau with beautiful gardens and two hidden  WW2 bunkers
Fort de la Pompelle Museum and WW1 fortress defending the Reims city during WW1
Reims Stop and sightseeing of various monuments and Champagne houses
Reddition museum Place where Nazi Germany surrendered in May 1945
Reims Cathedrale Visit of the famous cathedral where the French kings were crowned
+/-5pm drop off to your hotel in Reims Suggestion of the hotels will be sent to you upon booking

La Main de Massige WW 1 trenches that were forgotten till 2008 when reconstruction works began. Today it is the most authentic site of WW1 trenches in the Europe. Some movies and documentaries were shot here
Verzenay windmill With a beautiful views the windmill was used as a observation post during both world wars
Whisky distillery Visit and tasting of a unique French whisky distillery (optional - can be changed for anything else)
Sightseeing of Epernay Small town in the heart of Champagne with its famous Avenue de Champagne
Hautvillers Abbey Benedictine abbey in a picturesque village where Champagne was discovered by the monk DOM Perignon
Hautvillers Tasting of Champagne at a small producer
Various sightseeing Various stops on the road towards Paris:  Panorama of the "Valley of Epernay", Commonthwealth, Italian, German WW1 cemetery and other

Useful informations

Good clothes and good walking shoes. Morning in the Champagne region can be very cold as well as the visit of the cellars where the temperature drops to a constant 10 °C (50° F).
